Abstract:Objective: To analyse and evaluate the treatment effect of effect total hip replacement (THR), to evaluate the effect of treatment. Methods: 152 patients(157 hips) underwent THR from January 1995 to June 2001 in XiangYa Hospital. The series of patients included 73 male and 89 female, with an average age of 56 years. Femoral neck fracture 69 cases, avascular necrosis 47 cases, osteoarthritis 32 cases, femoral tumor 6 cases, ankylosing spondylitis 3 cases. Harris score was taken as the criterion to evaluate the symptom,sign and X-ray in preoperation,postoperation and follow up. Results: Of the 152 cases(153 hip), 5 cases were dead, 5 cases lost follow-up, the other were followed up for 4.1 years on average (from 1.5 years to 8.0 years). The Harris score improved from preoperational 55.8 to postoperational 95.0, Harris score was 87.1 in the last follow-up.The complication included cement reaction 3 cases, nerve damage 2 cases, deep vein throbolism of the lower limb 2 cases, infection of the would 3 cases, dislocation of the hip 4 cases, femoral frature 3 cases, pain 24 cases, limb length discrepancy 2 cases. Conclusions: Total hip replacement is an effective method for hip joint restruction, it can relieve the pain, regain the function of the hip joint,and improve the quality of living.
